It has been a long time coming but finally, Alfa Romeo are set to launch their first foray into the EV market, albeit a plug-in hybrid one.
It’s no lie, we have a couple of Alfa drivers in the NCA team and they have pestered us to post about this concept since it’s debut at the Geneva Motor Show in 2019!
This launch heralds Alfa’s “metamorphosis” from purely combustion engines, to purely electric by 2027, as set out by Alfa Romeo’s CEO Jean-Phillippe Imparato.
As a C-SUV, the Tonale is aimed as a rival for the Audi Q3 and BMW X1.
Styling-wise, recent spy shots have indicated that the Tonale is following the “Trilobo” front grill styling of the Stelvio and Giulia, with a full width tail light that merges with the logo, as teased by Alfa Romeo USA earlier this month.
So at 2pm tomorrow afternoon, please excuse us if we’re a tad “busy”! It’s all in the name of research, of course…
